Our Founding Team has several decades of experience in the fields of education and management.

Ranjana Sinha

Ranjana Sinha

Ranjana has a BSc. degree from BHU, and is the founder and principal of Amaltas Niketan, an english-medium school in Tilothu that was started in 1999 and presently has 1100+ children in classes Nursery to Std. X, children primarily from poor and low-income rural households from in and around Tilothu, whose parents have had little or no education. She is also the Secretary of Tilothu Mahila Mandal, and has been a key player in its growth and success.

Ranjit Sinha

Ranjit Sinha

Ranjit Sinha is a philanthropist and a social entrepreneur. Over the last 20 years, and inspired by Laurie Baker, a pioneer in cost-effective solutions, he has taken a keen interest in studying, developing and implementing cost-effective building technologies, and was a founding member of TMM Nirmiti Kendra, a division of Tilothu Mahila Mandal (an NGO), that was set up in 1995 as part of HUDCO’s “building center” initiative.His involvement has propelled TMM Nirmiti Kendra into a successful and nationally recognized organization.

Ranjit is also a regular teacher at Amaltas Niketan, a CBSE-curriculum, English-medium school run by TMM, for the local village children. He teaches English & Social Sciences.

Ranjit started his career with IBM, and is a graduate of IT BHU.

Ratna Choudhry

Ratna Choudhry

Ratna has 34+ years of experience in teaching K-12 students, training 5000+ teachers, running a communications firm and not-for-profit projects. She holds a post-graduate and under-graduate degree in English from Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi. She also has a B.Ed. and is an International Trainer and TOT for the Lions Quest- Skills for Adolescence Programme.

Ratna is the Founder & Managing Director of Winning Edge Education & Training. Winning Edge conducts training in Spoken English, Personality Development and Computer Skills for students and young professionals. She is also the President of Tilothu Mahila Mandal, a not for profit organization that works at the grassroot in villages of Bihar, to improve people’s lives through education, housing, sanitation and empowerment.

Saloni Sinha

Saloni Sinha

Saloni is an entrepreneur and finance professional. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CFA) & Chartered Accountant (India), and holds a Bachelors degree from Lady Sri Ram College, Delhi University.

In 2011, Saloni founded Shelter First. Shelter First combines philanthropy and business to bring low cost affordable housing to tier 4 towns and semi-rural areas of Bihar. Between 2007 and 2010, she was Treasurer of Enesco, one of the largest global gift ware companies in the world, based in Chicago. From 2001 to 2007, she held leadership positions in finance and operations in venture-backed software companies in the Silicon Valley (California). Saloni started her career with KPMG’s Tax Advisory Division, where she worked for 6 years in Mumbai and California.

Saloni is also a Member of Tilothu Mahila Mandal, a not for profit organization that works at the grassroot in villages of Bihar, to improve people’s lives through education, housing, sanitation and empowerment.

Yashvir Sinha

Yashvir Sinha

A post-grad diploma holder in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur (1970), Yashvir worked in Tata Steel and its sister company, TM International Logistics Ltd, for 38 years. In his last assignment with TM International in 2008, he was Chief of Port Operations & Projects.

Passionate about further improving the education standard in government schools in Bihar, Yashvir, in 2009, established Shiksha Jagriti Manch, Tilothu, an NGO to help improve education standards in and around Tilothu.
