About Sandapini Gurukul Foundation
Sandapini Gurukul Foundation, established in 2013, is a charitable trust dedicated to advancing holistic education in the spirit of the traditional Gurukul system. The Foundation seeks to promote academic excellence as well as the moral, ethical, and emotional development of learners, shaping individuals who can contribute meaningfully to society.
At the heart of its mission is the creation of an integrated educational ecosystem, one that combines formal education, skill development, and value-based learning. The Foundation’s vision is to empower first-generation learners and professionals, and build a cadre of educators, entrepreneurs, and leaders who can bring about systemic change in school education, especially in underserved rural areas.
Current Initiatives
Currently, the Foundation runs [Amaltas College of Education], a premier teachers’ training institution in rural Bihar. By bringing high-quality education to the doorsteps of the local community, the College has removed barriers that often prevent families, particularly those with daughters, from pursuing higher education.
Since its inception in 2016, the College has been a pillar of opportunity, especially for young women, many of whom are now employed in both government and private schools. These graduates are transforming their own lives, uplifting their families, and contributing to the educational and social development of their communities.
Future Plans
Looking ahead, the Foundation is actively working on plans to expand its impact through the development of a comprehensive 6-acre campus that will include an integrated school, skilling and vocational training center, research and innovation hub, residential facilities, cultural and community center, and an undergraduate college with a strong focus on vocational and skill-based education.
A key part of this vision is to transition the College into a University, offering a wider range of programs and serving as a hub for teacher education, research, and innovation. These initiatives represent the Foundation’s ongoing effort to create a robust and inclusive educational ecosystem that continually responds to the evolving needs of society.
Governance
The Foundation is managed by a committed [Board of Trustees] with expertise in education, finance, and community development. Their collective experience ensures that the Foundation’s initiatives are strategically planned, responsibly executed, and aligned with its mission to provide equitable, high-quality education.
