Amaltas College of Education, in collaboration with Pratham Foundation, hosted a four-day workshop from 24–27 September 2025 for the D.El.Ed. 2024–26 batch. The workshop is part of a broader engagement with Pratham, which began with two online classes earlier this year and will continue over the next four months.
The training focuses on the teaching skills required for Grades 1 and 2, aiming to build children’s physical, socio-emotional, cognitive, language, and creative abilities. Special emphasis is placed on developing early literacy and numeracy skills alongside holistic growth. Community-based initiatives involving mothers and volunteers are also integral to the programme, encouraging wider participation in a child’s development.
The sessions were led by trainers from Pratham’s central and state teams, including Anuradha Sharma, Tripta, Naqi Ahmad, Shakti Kumari, and Dinesh Singh. Over the four days, trainees engaged in practical exercises related to lesson planning, activity design, and the use of teaching materials for language and mathematics at the primary level. Activities included storytelling, sound games, writing practice, number recognition, and simple arithmetic through interactive methods.
The engagement will continue as students begin their 16-week school internship on 7 October 2025, where they will put their learning into practice under the monitoring of Pratham trainers. Weekly online sessions will support and reinforce practical skills and mindset needed for foundational learning.
