Mr. Ranjit Sinha began his career as a young engineer with IBM in 1970. His entrepreneurial journey began with a series of fertilizer factories with mixed success, establishing him as a first-generation entrepreneur. In 1992, family circumstances prompted his return closer to home, leading him to focus on housing and sanitation. He founded TMM Nirmiti Kendra, which has since become a nationally recognized center for the development and implementation of cost-effective construction technology. At TMM Nirmiti Kendra, rural women play a pioneering role in an industry traditionally dominated by men.
Mr. Sinha is a sought-after advisor to both Central and State Governments, leveraging his expertise to influence policy and practice. His dedication extends to education, where he passionately teaches English and Social Sciences at Amaltas Niketan, a school for first generation learners in his village, Tilothu where he lives. His home is a welcoming space for all, especially his students, whom he considers as family.
Mr. Sinha is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Varanasi, and remains deeply committed to philanthropy and social entrepreneurship.
